Lots of news, but very little No Man time.  Bullet points is all I got in me:

  • Fort Bliss soldier is awaiting transfer to BOP after being declared incompetent to stand trial in the shooting death of a teenager.  Polanco apparently opened fire from inside his home and one of the shots hit the teen as he was passing by.  See coverage here and here.
  • Navy dog handlers are alleging hazing in their unit.  Double entendre.  See story here and investigation here.  The investigation is rather old, but apparently has renewed interest.
  • More news on the alleged mercy killing in Canada.  See story here.  Interesting quote, afellow soldier in Capt. Semrau’s company said, “British troops would call in medical evacuation for anyone who’s injured, but the Canadian Army leave wounded enemy on the battlefield. This Taleban fighter was going to die and, if anything, Rob has acted with compassion and put him out of his misery.”

Hmm…Very interesting, never heard of a military member declared incompetent or have a sanity board come back in his favor.

Usually the Government has the doc “take a closer look” if the doc says he can’t stand trial. Then Presto Magico the doc changes his mind.

What is this from the hazing story !!??!?

“I was hog-tied to a chair, rolled around the base, left in a dog kennel that had feces spread in it,” Rocha says.

Boo Hoo !!! Cry a river. I rember duck taping a Senior Airman Rodriguez to a chair, throwing pies in his face and dropping off in the middle of the Flight Line with a big sign, “Crew Chiefs Suck”.

Got the pictures to prove it.

Oh, and then there was that we Dumped Beans on Chuck (his first deployment) and mustard sauce. Man was he mad, he went waving around that big old knife, well you guys just gotta see the video, maybe I’ll put it on you tube.

I got video of me rubing the Microphone on my you-know-whats before Donald Rumsfeld used it in a speech.

Man, I gotta cut these videos and post ’em, you guys wouldn’t believe the pranks I pulled.

Leaving catfood in the Crew Chief’s Van, prank phone calls to Call Major “Storm” or Captain “D”. Setting up a [edited] during a Fire Drill. Fun times.

For you spelling Nazi’s I meant “Duct” not duck tape.

If you aren’t going to exhibit intelligence or contribute in a meaningful fashion, can’t you at least be interesting or funny? We’d really settle for either at this point.

  4. Comrade Cossio says:

Who is “we”. You and what Army?

Well, maybe you don’t think my war videos are “interesting” or my stories of hazing “meaningful” about this story of hazing. Or how that contributes.

Fact is this is very common in the plebian work place, maybe not in your plush air conditioned office.

I will consider YouTubing my videos, especially Rumsfield Speech and my little dance – Yes, I’ll do that this weekend.

Cossio your behavior on active-duty sounds like the same type of conduct that got you court-martialed!

Cossio this post is typical of the posts that got you banned from the blog!!

  6. Mike "No Man" Navarre says:

He’s not banned yet–notice that he can still post. While we’d rather not hear about Cossio’s shennanigans on active duty, his post does have passing relevance to the topic under which it is posted. At least he is trying. However, CC, I’d suggest you keep trying harder to avoid censure.
