    My reaction was: is this it? This was underwhelming. I think more people were expecting broader recommendations. It looks like they largely focused the report on a few “good ideas” from the public session that are in fact bad ideas. These, such as the silly prohibition against TC attacking DC expert credentials (see comments of previous post) and getting rid of Art 125, were given status as main pillars without much thought.

    Everyone on the Cox Commission is distinguished, but they’ve all been away from military justice for some time. Where were the Dwight Sullivans, active duty JAs, and recent or current commanders?

    So you think it’s just fine for the government to give defense an expert that they deem an adequate substitute and then turn around and attack the basic qualifications of the very expert they provided?

    If so, why? If not, how would you resolve the problem other than this?

    I don’t understand how sodomy in the sense of non-consensual isn’t covered in whole by the new 120. If it is, what is the further need for 125?
