An interesting report, available here, on the Sgt. Russell case was released today by MNC-I. Sgt. Russell, if you don’t recall, is accused of shooting and killing five service members at a combat stress clinic at Camp Liberty, Baghdad in May 2009.  Russell is charged with five counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault.  The heavily redacted report is 325 pages long and has some interesting observations about training and leadership.  See NYT report here.  Our prior coverage of the military justice proceedings is available here.

I was left pondering how the heck anyone could have produced a 325-page investigation on something that happened on Monday, only two days ago, and if it happened only two days ago, how had I not heard news of it?

I following the links. Not Monday, but last May. Aha.

Yeah, CS, that didn’t make much sense. Editorial and editing comments are always appreciated. Corrected above.
