Interesting. I had a client in a nasty ad sep some years ago who was an academy grad, and I made a comment that "You must feel a bit like Dreyfus being stripped of his rank". I was surprised to discover that he had never heard of Alfred Dreyfus. Made me wonder what the troops were being taught at the academies. Every military officer should know about the Dreyfus affair, just to remind them of the power of the institution and the risk of abuse of that power.

I recommend this book despite the fact that the author has strained to make the subject more contemporary by making connections to the current detainee issues. The military justice parts of the tale are disgraceful and fascinating and well worth putting up with the distractions.
