Happy Groundhog Day
Groundhog Day is Code 45′s unofficial holiday.
This year we didn’t really need Punxsutawney Phil to figure out that winter will last another six weeks. Nevertheless, happy Groundhog Day to Code 45 personnel and alumni!

We get to see the movie over and over again today on the ship’s TV. It’s kind of like a Code 45 simulator.
I’ve always found the math associated with Groundhog Day amusing:
If Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter, which means winter will end on March 16 — right about when spring is scheduled to begin anyway.
Why is it the unofficial holiday of Code 45?
I’ve always assumed it was because of the associations of the Feast of the Presentation with the Law, and perhaps reflective of the aspirations of Code 45′s counsel to be as a light among the nations.
Back in the good old days of being “shorthanded,” while pushing the pig through the snake with 37 enlargements, it seemed every other day was an unofficial holiday with Code 45.
