Wellie Boot Detainee Assault
I only post this link to a UK story on a guilty finding in a Royal Marine, detainee mistreatment court-martial because I found the choice of weapon so odd, a Wellie boot. For those that have to Google Wellie boot, I’ll save you the time: here, courtesy of Wikipedia, and for the link-o-phobes think of those trendy all rubber/plastic boots you see 30-something women wearing on rainy days on their way to work.
I don’t think a US Marine would be caught dead near a Wellie boot, but Marines please feel free to re-educate me on Marine fashion.

Unfashionable? But they do keep the feet dry. The Marines at Dreary Point and Lejeune could use some apparently.
Are there females in the Royal Marines? If so, is that a new development?
From the article:
“There Lance Corporal Ellen Chun took responsibility for him, ensuring Ekhlas had food and taking photos of his injuries before he was placed in a tent for the night.
L/Cpl Chun told the court martial that about 6.30pm Sgt Leader visited the tent.
She said: “Sgt Leader said something like ‘I don’t know why they brought him back, they should have killed him.’”"
Since about 2002 I think.
