I understand that CAAF’s web site, as well as the Air Force Court’s web site, is likely to be down for days, perhaps until 21 April.  Both are hosted by the Air Force JAG School at Maxwell Air Force Base.

In the meantime, if anyone gets a hard copy grant or opinion from CAAF, please let us know.  As always, you can reach us at caaflog@caaflog.com.

There is an obvious and much more effective means of getting opinions and grants from the CAAF; just contact the judge. You will have to guess who the author of the opinion is, but then all you have to do is email Judge Baker, call Judge Ryan, or Tweet Judge Stucky and ask him or her for the opinion. Be aware, however, each may have his or her own idiosyncratic reasons for giving or withholding the opinion from you, sometime based upon what the individual judge thinks of the press. Also, the judge may withhold the opinion if it is not a final record. For example, if the opinion mandates a Farmer hearing (DuBay should not get all the attention), a sentence reassessment, or authorizes a rehearing, the opinion may not be provided because case is not final. Best of luck.

Unheard of. What are they hiding? An unannounced upgrade perhaps? Doubtful. Probably incompetence. And we’re to win this war against al qaeda?

The computer network emanating from Maxwell AFB has had “issues” for years. This outage is nothing new.
