Over this Memorial Day weekend, I’ve been spending a good deal of time thinking about our fallen comrades.  The Army JAG School’s web site includes this Hall of Heroes, which provides information about members of the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps who have been killed during military operations, including six Soldiers killed between 2003 and 2007 in Iraq and Afghanistan:

Chief Warrant Officer Five Sharon Swartworth

Sergeant Major Cornell W. Gilmore

Sergeant Michael M. Merila

Corporal Sascha Struble

Major Michael Martinez

Corporal Coty J. Phelps

Great post, Colonel Sullivan. We will never forget these Soldiers.

For those that have never been to TJAGLC&S there is also a “Hall of Heroes” where each fallen JAGC member (officer, warrant, and enlisted) is honored by a stained glass window insert with their rank, name, unit/patch, and I think dates of service. It is a nice area that allows you to reflect on their service/sacrifice.
