I am always suspicious when a cause du jour already has a well populated wikipedia page, particularly when the subject matter of the cause is leaks to wiki-leaks. But, I’ll let you judge this wikipedia page and theFree Bradley Manning page for yourself. See our prior discussion here of his detention for alleged classified information related offenses.

Ed. Note: Anyone know for sure whether wikipedia and wikleaks are related/unrelated? I have no idea and don’t mean to suggest above that they are. A: From the reading I did on the Metro the answer appears to be no relationship, but feel free to re-educate me.

I don’t believe wikipedia has any kind of patent on the word wiki.

There are a host of “wikis” out there primarily covering everything you want to know about your fav TV show.

So I think the answer is no.

It would be a bit of a contradiction if Wikipedia put a TM or (c) on anything. But also probably opens them to receiving misdirected search warrants and subpoenas.

Asking if wiki-leaks and wikipedia are related is the wrong question (though I’m pretty sure the answer is no). wikipedia can be edited by anyone, so the question is, are the people who wrote this particular article related to wiki-leaks. Short of a subpoena there’s probably no way to know.

Don’t his supporters have a point to a certain extent? Doesn’t Article 10 of the UCMJ direct the govt to either charge and try the accused or release him? Will the govt charge him under the espionage act? Is the video classified as a military operation under the EO for national security info? It sounds like there’s no corroboration of his admission to the 200,000+ documents. Should be an interesting case.

Isn’t the presence of the video corroboration of any admissions about releasing it to Wikileaks?
As to other information potentially in possession of Wikileaks, will we have a reprise of Wuterich?
