The cover story of the 1 November Air Force Times reports on the basis for the 11th Wing Commander’s relief last year.  (The full article is reprinted here; scroll down just a bit.)  It turns out that it was due in part to the commander’s alleged dropping of f bombs.  Uhm, I could be in trouble.

Roop, though, contends he would never have been appointed commander of the 11th if his performance as vice commander had not been acceptable.

Regrettably, acceptable performance as vice commander is no guarantee of acceptable performance as commander.

Interesting how his “whining” or observation sounds familiar? I wonder how many enlisted persons and officers who flowed through his disciplinary jaws were treated in the same fashion — by him. I wonder how many submitted clemency requests or other requests … well you get the picture.
