CAAFlog, also known as Dwight Sullivan–Air Force civilian appellate defense counsel by day and Marine Corps Reserve O-6 JAG on other days–has some quotes in a new AP article about the chances that the new charges against PVT Bradley Manning might result in a capital referral. The possibility of a capital court-martial in the Wikil__ case springs from the preferral earlier this week against Manning of a charge of Aiding the Enemy.

It’s interesting to note that the article cites only 1 current capital sentence in the military, that of Ronald Gray. Of course, Gray is the military convict who is the closest to actual execution, but he is one of 6 (by my count) who have military death sentences adjudged against them.
