The National Journal reports on the congressional reaction to yesterday’s Executive Order (see post below) issued by President Obama regarding the future of the Guantanamo detainees. With its own proposals for dealing with the detainees circulating, it’s not surprising that some members of Congress aren’t too happy that the President pre-empted legislation with the Executive Order.

One correction to note from this piece: Sen. Lindsey Graham is a JAG in the Air Force Reserve, but he hasn’t been a judge for several years. See U.S. v. Lane, 64 M.J. 1 (CAAF 2006).
