In extremely low fly-over news, apparently there were some issues in the Iowa game flyover team flight lead’s past.  See Chicago Tribune here. None sound disqualifying, though the press would make them out to be.  What is the strangest about the story is that I can’t get the name of a witness that testified in open court from the Air Force, Navy, or Army, yet all of this personal and career information about this officer appears in the Tribune.  WTF?

A June court-martial date is set for SPC Aaron Rentfrow at Ft. Wainright for the murder of his wife according to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.  The facts are a bit odd as the accused allegedly self-reported the crime then asked for counsel.  According to the Army docket, the trial is scheduled for June 20 in front of COL Bridges and is set for 5 days.  TC is listed as MAJ (?) Marshall and DC are listed as CPT Will Obringer & CPT(?) Olson.  Good luck, Will.  UPDATE:  I’ve been informed that the case was referred non-capital and the charges are one spec each under Art. 118(1), UCMJ and Art. 134, UCMJ (kidnapping).
