Here is an update from a few hours ago courtesy of the running blog of Adam Ashton at the Tacoma News Tribune.  Would appear one of the government’s witnesses, SPC Adam Winfield, is waffling and providing fodder for defense cross–including denial of drug use that he admitted in a prior written statement.  Winfield and SPC Jeremy Morlock are the government’s key witnesses linking SSGT Gibbs to the two alleged murders of civilians while their squad was on patrols in Afghanistan.

   According to the article D_P linked above, Gibbs also admited to multilating Afghani corpses by cutting off the dead men’s fingers.

   Not sure that testimony will be well-received.
