Remember how we came to have the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The case referenced by Stars & Stripes and the alleged injustices noted was not “the” case that lead to military justice reforms after WWII – it was one of many. The good news is that we have come a long way since then.

Note the article’s reference to reparations. I assume that was actually just back pay and allowances.
