Confirmation of cancelation of CAAF’s judicial conference

CAAFs website now confirms that the judicial conference has been canceled–an apparent victim of the services’ inability to fund attendance due to sequestration concerns.

    I am with Ama, this was going to be a great conference.  I am most disappointed about not having a happy hour.  Maybe we can still grab drinks in memory of the CAAF conference that was not.

    Speaking of CAAF, the end of the last Congress meant that the nomination to fill the 5th judge slot there died, right?  Any scuttlebutt on who will be nominated next?

    Well for those defense practitioners in the DC area who may need some CLE credit or are otherwise interested, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers [NACDL] is having their mid-winter CLE in DC in conjunction with the American Association of Forensic Sciences 21-22 FEB 13.  You do not have to be an NACDL member to attend and active duty DC get a discount: http://www.nacdl.org/LegalEducation.aspx?id=19610
