The fayobserver has this interesting post today.

CBS will air “48 Hours: Honor to Dishonor” this Saturday at 10 p.m. The 42-minute show highlights the court-martial of Sgt. Brent Burke at Fort Campbell, Ky. last year and actually had some pretty good access to Army lawyers. I had a sneak peak of the program and, while there is no Fort Bragg connection, there are some similarities to a very well-known Bragg case.

    Thanks, Phil.  I always love to see courts-martial on these types of shows, if for no other reason than to see how they portray each military member as the next “rising star” “quickly progressing through the ranks” “almost a general” “a star soldier” (even if not in the Army), etc.

    I don’t like how the media suggests something sinister about the lack of unanimous verdicts in courts martial.  Yeah it’s 2/3 to convict but it’s only 1/3+1 to acquit.
